Taking care of our physical condition promotes optimal health and functioning. It implies the need to come to know our body, and make the correct choices to properly balance our physical activity, nutrition and mental well-being so that our body is in top condition. It requires discipline, and in some cases, external support. To assist you in maintaining a healthy balance, we provide the following services:

Upon Admissions, students are required to present updated vaccine report, and a medical certificate which is be renewed on a yearly basis

All students admitted at SJBSM must have a medical health plan and a disability insurance, to ensure students medical expenses and/or accidents are covered. In the event that students do not have one, they may request the institutional coverage. For more information, refer to the Registrar's Office.

Students that present the need for specialized treatment may meet with the Personal Counselor for referrals

SJBSM has developed policies and procedures that address safety measures for students. Some of these policies include: usage of controlled substances (Executive Order 98-04); immunization requirements (Executive Order 2006-05); exposure to varicella (Executive Order 2006-08); tuberculin conversion (Executive Order 2006-09); occupational injuries (Executive Order 2006-010); exposure to blood borne pathogens (Executive Order 2006-11); health care services (Executive Order 2012-05); communicable disease (Executive Order 2012-07); exposure to body fluids (Executive Order 2013-02); emergency health care (Executive Order 2013-03); and Mask fit (Executive Order 2017-01).

The Students Affairs Office encourages and promotes the development of student organizations. Any group of students interested in forming an interest group consistent with the objectives of the San Juan Bautista School of Medicine, may submit a written proposal to the Dean of Student Affairs. Campus facilities -- SJBSM has on campus facilities that allows students to practice sports in their free time. The town of Caguas also has several sports facilities with easy access for students. Snack machines are available on campus with healthy options, and the Student Center is fully equipped providing students with the opportunity to bring their own food and follow up on their healthy eating habits.

As humans we are social beings. We interact with those around us and even build collaborative relations to achieve certain goals. When we speak of social wellness we refer to the relationships we have and how the interactions take place. Healthy, nurturing and supportive relations with those around you provide a much needed resource to help us through difficult times.
