AMCAS Choose your Medical School Tool

Upon acceptance applicants must access AMCAS “Choose your Medical School” tool at AMCAS and select “Plan to Enroll”. This will help the Admissions Committee have an approximate idea on how many admissions offers they will need to make in order to have the entire class at the end of the process. The Admissions Office will send periodic reminders to update your acceptance status during the season, but the applicant may enter the portal and update it at any time.

Plan to Enroll

Beginning February 19 - Admitted students can select “Plan to Enroll” for their top medical school choices on the Choose Your Medical School Tool in AMCAS. By April 15 - Applicants holding more than three admission offers should narrow their offers of acceptance to three schools designated as “Plan to Enroll”, with no limit on alternate-list offers.

Commit to Enroll

By April 30 “Commit to Enroll” becomes available to applicants in the AMCAS tool - Choose Your Medical School Tool. “Plan to Enroll” also remains available in the AMCAS tool. It indicates that you have made your final selection and have withdrawn all other applications.

Note: This does not automatically withdraw applicants from other medical schools: you must do this through the AMCAS tool. You must select “Commit to Enroll” for San Juan Bautista School of Medicine by June 14. You must also withdraw all other applications by that date.
