In our commitment to educating a culturally and linguistically diverse generation of physicians and other health professionals who will work and serve in a diverse local, national, and global community, the San Juan Bautista School of Medicine welcomes applications from International applicants. International applicants are defined under the following terms:

  • Out-of-state applicants are U.S. citizens or have permanent resident visas. They must have completed their undergraduate work at a US college or University.  They must meet the same admission requirements as in-state applicants.
  • Canadian applicants are considered international students.  They must meet the same admission requirements as international applicants.
  • International applicants are noncitizens without permanent residency (green card). Accepted international applicants must have an F-1 visa. Academic transcripts must be validated trough a Certified USA Education Service. They must provide evidence to finance M.D. education.
  • DACA applicants - San Juan Bautista School of Medicine welcomes applications from DACA applicants. They must meet the same admission requirements as international applicants.

International applicants are eligible to apply to San Juan Bautista School of Medicine, however, strong preference is given to US citizens / permanent residents and applicants who have (or will have by the time of matriculation) completed their undergraduate work at a US college or university.

Accepted international students must be prepared to absorb the high cost of US medical education, and have a full understanding that international students are not qualified for traditional US educational funding including loans and scholarships. Accepted international students must present evidence of funds that evidence that they are capable of paying the total tuition of the four years of the Medical Program. 

Accepted international students should have a full understanding that they may have limited options in terms of post-graduate training, both geographically and in within specialties. 

Admission Requirements for International Candidates

International students will be considered to the regular pool of applicants under the same admission requirements. Academic transcripts must be validated through a Certified USA Education Service.
